2022 dates announced for Sydney and Melbourne Dog Lovers Show

The popular Dog Lovers Show will return to Sydney and Melbourne this year, organisers have confirmed, after the pandemic forced its cancellation in previous years.

It has been almost three years since the shows were last staged back in 2019. Shows in both cities in 2020 and 2021 were shelved because of COVID restrictions and lockdowns.

It has been almost three years since the shows were last staged back in 2019, with shows in both cities in 2020 and 2021 shelved because of COVID restrictions and lockdowns.

The Sydney Dog Lovers Show will return to the Sydney Showground, at Sydney Olympic Park, on Saturday 6and Sunday 7 August 2022.

Meanwhile the Melbourne Dog Lovers Show will take place at a different venue from previous years. It will be held at Melbourne Exhibition Centre, South Wharf, from Friday 14 to Sunday 16 October.

The show’s founder and CEO, Jason Humphris, said that he expects this year’s show to be bigger and better than ever, reflecting the surge in pet ownership across Australia on the back of the pandemic.

“Many new dog owners had been thinking of welcoming a new pup and the pandemic gave them the time to be actively present at home to ‘on-board’ the pooch they have dreamed of for so long, said Mr Humphris.

“The dog loving community … are clearly excited to be returning to our live events, with pre-sale tickets selling out in record time.”

Mr Humphris also thanked exhibitors who are returning after the show’s multi-year hiatus.
